Daly City 856 public safety dispatchers are fighting city bosses’ attempt to outsource their jobs. The move by management is a threat to public safety, would save little, if any money, and has been opposed by all rank and file Daly City Police Officers.
Adding further insult to injury, City Manager Pat Martel delayed the release of report by 911 communications expert Daryl Jones, who was hired by the city to study the impacts of outsourcing. The report concluded that the outsourcing would not produce the savings promised.
