Teamsters work hard – it’s important to relax once in awhile! It’s in that spirit the Teamsters Joint Council 7 – the umbrella organization for Teamsters Locals in Northern California and Nevada – hosts an annual “Teamster Day at the Ballpark”.
Nearly 200 856 members represented our Local at the event which was held last Saturday at the Oakland Coliseum and included a catered tailgate party, Teamster t-shirts, and tickets to the game.
“We were all totally impressed with the tailgate. We arrived at 10, and enjoyed a great luncheon,” said St. Rose Hospital Member Teresa Jue, who attended with a group of her Teamster colleagues from the hospital’s x-ray department.
“It was SO organized, and the food was awesome!” she said.
United Airlines Shop Steward Scott Abrahamson attended with his wife, daughter and grandson. “I’m very grateful that I was able to attend this year,” he said. “It was a blast!”
Members in attendance were treated to the much-anticipated matchup between former teammates, pitchers Tim Hudson for the Giants and Barry Zito for the A’s.
In the end, the Giants prevailed, winning the game 14-10.“We all had a fantastic time!! Especially us Giants fans!” said Jue.
