Last month, Local 856 Secretary-Treasurer/Principal Officer Peter Finn and President Mike Lagomarsino held two days of meetings with the hotel worker Teamsters in San Francisco to discuss and answer questions about a newly negotiated benefit to their Teamster health care plan, which will provide members and their families more peace of mind upon retirement.

Local 856 represents hundreds of front desk, concierge, room control, and reservations employees at more than 30 hotels around San Francisco.

“It’s life-changing,” said Nora Johnson. Nora is a Teamsters 856 shop steward who has worked at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square for 48 years. “It’s like getting a big raise for retirement. I’m very happy.”
