Your first step to effective representation.
An “Authorization Card” is a necessary tool that we use to get to an election. Under Federal law, we have to show that enough workers at Edgewood are interested in union representation before we can have a secret ballot vote.
The Teamsters Union will support us in organizing ourselves but ultimately it’s up to us to make the move. Momentum is building as more and more Edgewood workers desire Teamsters representation. Sign a card today and let’s show each other and management that we are ready to build a strong union at Edgewood.
Fill out a card today and turn it in to a Teamster organizer or mail it to: 453 San Mateo Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does signing a card commit me to voting?
No. Signing a card shows your interest in having a union representation. Once the National Labor Relations Board orders an election, each of us will have the opportunity to cast a secret ballot.
If management finds out I signed a card, can I be retaliated against?
First of all, under Federal law, the card you sign must remain confidential. Your employer is not entitled to see the cards. Sections 7 and 8 of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) guarantee employees the right to create, join, and participate in a labor union without being unfairly intimidated or punished by their employer. It is illegal for your employer to question, harass, or otherwise punish or discipline employees—or threaten to—if they support unionization. Teamsters 856 is prepared to take swift action against any employer who attempts to interfere with your legally guaranteed rights to unionize. If you feel like your rights have been violated, please contact Teamsters 856 immediately at (650) 635-0111.
