Teamsters 856 is pleased to announce that applications to enter the lottery to attend the 2025 Teamsters Women’s Conference on behalf of Teamsters Local 856 are now being accepted.
This year’s conference will take place in Toronto, Canada, from Sunday, August 24 through Wednesday, August 27, 2025. (Travel dates Sunday, August 24 through Thursday, August 28, 2025.)
We couldn’t be prouder that our very own Local 856 President Ashley Alvarado, serves as the National Director of the Teamsters Women’s Conference, so we know it will be an empowering, inspiring, and educational few days of Teamster sisterhood.
Things to Know: Due to the popular nature of this conference, there is a limited number of sponsorships available, a lottery will be held to determine attendees.
Past attendees have been representative of the exceptional diversity of Local 856. Members from all backgrounds and industries are encouraged to apply to enter the lottery.

Before you complete this application, please keep in mind that you MUST possess a valid passport to enter Canada.
Additionally, those with a criminal record, including convictions for driving under the influence, may not be allowed into Canada. - The deadline to submit the application for the lottery is 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
- Members must complete the entire application to be considered for sponsorship by Teamsters 856 to attend the 2025 Teamsters Women’s Conference.
- Applicants must be Teamsters Local 856 members to be eligible for consideration.
- Selected applicants must be able to attend the Teamsters Women’s Conference in Toronto, Canada, Sunday, August 24th through Thursday, August 28th, 2025.
- If selected, Teamsters 856 will provide travel to and from Toronto, Canada and accommodations for the duration of the conference.
- Selected applicants will also receive a per diem.
- However, selected applicants will not be compensated for any lost wages incurred as a result of attending the Teamsters Women’s Conference. Your Teamsters 856 representative will work with you and your employer to secure time off, vacation or otherwise, to attend the event.
