Since 2012, Teamsters 856 has been proud to send a diverse group of members to represent our Local at the Summer Institute on Union Women. The Summer Institute is an annual weeklong event that gives working women from across the world a chance to take a pause from their daily lives to deepen their union knowledge, strategize on how to enhance the labor movement, connect with like-minded women, and elevate their leadership skills.
In 2019, we are continuing our Local’s commitment to member education and involvement by sending an eighth group of Teamsters 856 members to the Summer Institute at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, July 2–6.
