This month, United Airlines members continued the fight for a fair contract with actions in New York City and at SFO.
On March 8, 856 members joined hundreds of United Airlines Teamsters from across the country to picket JP Morgan’s annual Aviation, Transportation & Industrials investor conference in New York City, warning attendees of ongoing labor unrest and a possible summer strike.
The next week, UAL members teamed up with the flight attendants’ union for an action at SFO’s Terminal 3. United Airlines’ Flights Attendants are also locked in a battle with the airline for a fair agreement.
The membership held two similar actions in February at SFO, after 93.2% of United Airlines Teamsters nationwide rejected the company-forced proposal that would have slashed wages for incoming mechanics, increased health care costs, and outsourced aircraft maintenance even as the carrier continues to make record profits.
