Good Morning Teamsters Local 856 members,
Yesterday, the County offered a package proposal that is unacceptable and ignores our priorities. The Negotiations team is asking for strike authorization from the membership to reject the offer.
There will be a meeting tomorrow, Thursday, July 16 at 5:30 p.m. to update members on the details and ask for your yes vote to authorize the bargaining team to call a strike.
There will be a separate email ballot sent out to vote yes authorizing a strike tomorrow after the meeting.
The Negotiations Team is scheduled to meet with the County again July 28th. Our contract has expired and the County is not listening to our priorities on wages, benefits, and equity. This is not acceptable. We must prepare to strike. Getting your Yes vote is a required first step.
