Remember Gov. Brown’s recent joke that made national news about a building a wall around California if Trump got elected? Well, he made that off-the-cuff remark at the California Labor Federation’s Joint Legislative Conference in Sacramento, and 856 staffers, Peter Finn, Rudy Gonzalez, Trish Blinstrub, and Malia Vella were in attendance. The annual event, held on March 14 and 15, brings Labor together with legislators who have a solid record of supporting working families.

In addition to Governor Brown, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom was also a featured speaker and Attorney David Rosenfeld — who is very familiar to 856 members for his excellent work on our behalf and his superb trainings on our rights in the workplace – was honored.

The event also included a lobby day, where union members from across the state visited assembly members and state senators to advocate for issues that protect working families.
